The hands of Leonardo

Did Leonardo da Vinci have syndactyly, or fused fingers, on his left hand? This guy thinks so, and makes a good case. Quite what difference it makes if true, is anyone's guess. But we wouldn't be humans if it weren't for pointless quests, would we?
